This passion has earned him many titles, the father of conservation being the best known. He has travelled worldwide, from Antarctica, Africa, India through to the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Numbered among his friends have been fellow scientists, artists, politicians and conservationists, including David Williamson and John Olsen, Spike Milligan, Gough Whitlam and Jill and Neville Wran. His has been a fascinating and exciting life.
