As a result of dialogue between Tommy Dodd, a Northern Nyangumarta elder, and Father Kevin McKelson, who worked at the La Grange Mission in the 1960s this diary gradually evolved into organised linguistic field notes showing the beauty and versatility of the Northern Nyangumarta language and customs and culture of its people.
