The author’s interest in the goldfields of Western Australia was ignited when he was given historical photograhs from the area’s early mining days, dating back to 1865. He then began researching the Coolgardie goldfields, from their discovery in 1892 up to the mid-1980s. This study forms the first part of the book, with the secod devoted to the different zones making up the Western Australian Goldfields, which cover a vast area.
