Gerald R. Allen is the author of more than 150 scientific articles and 12 books. He has been Head Curator of the Department of Ichthyology at the Western Australian Museum since 1974 and has travelled and dived extensively throughout the tropics Dr Allen is an international recognised authority on the classification of coral reef fishes and freshwater fishes ofvthe Australian-New Guinea Region. ROGER swainston is an accomplished natural history artist who has been associated with the Western Australian Museum since 1984. He fish paintings have been widely acclaimed and have appeared in several books including Sea Fishes Of Southern austr which he co-author.
