The Concept
The project features a series of 12 photographs paired with autobiographical text written by Yu Na. The images show her posing nude or in provocative clothing inside grim, minimalist, and dreary office environments. She is surrounded by men in black suits who sit impassively around a boardroom table, seemingly ignoring one another.
The Meaning
The work plays with irony and absurdity to flip power dynamics on their head. Despite the setting, Yu Na was the one holding the camera’s trigger, giving her total control over the scene, the men, and the narrative of her own image. It serves as a commentary on control, objectification, and the absurd situations women frequently face in exploitative industries.
