But now, thanks to the power of social media, that has startes to change. Sandgropers who grew up in the 50s, 60s and 70s were the last to walk everywhere (when the deadly treadly had a flat). We could run a mile in a minute when Skippy was coming on the telly. Of course, our telly was black and white, our radio was AM and the coolest of us had a mate with a CB radio in his bedroom. Every suburb had a great patch of real bush where local kids built the coolest cubby houses. Pinching bits off the other mob’s cubby was expected…and you knew they’d get back somehow.
