AVIATION New Zealand –
The history of Harry Wigley and Mount Cook Ski Planes.
Harry Wigley was the elder son of Rudolph Wigley, who pioneered motor transport to the Hermitage, Mount Cook, designed a before-its-time tractor, and took to active flying at an age when most men were thinking of retirement. Harry Wigley greatly admired ” the old man” and followed his example of vigorous and unorthodox pioneering. He was educated at Christ’s College and in the cockpits of a variety of small and temperamental early aeroplanes, this is the story of his flying life.
Illustrated with monochrome images and maps, decorated end papers.
First Edition pp. 222 illusts #100825
