    Hypnosis today is still shrouded in mystery as it was in the days of Mesmer. Overshadowed by its recent flirtation with psychoanalysis, the medical establishment has relegated it to a stand-by, almost last-resort treatment for the relief of certain mental conditions. One such is the anxiety arising out of sexual matters; and the disorders resulting from this can, when the patient is amenable to hypnotic suggestion, be treated successfully. In collaboration with Dr. Ernest Hudson, Club International is offering its readers relief from their sexual anxieties through hypnotic treatment at absolutely no charge to themselves!
    The treatment is completely confidential and we hope that the results will prove of interest not only to readers of this magazine, but also to doctors concerned with problems of mental health.
    Mariella Novotny is at it again (and again and again …) this month going Dutch, demonstrating her finer points with Tariq Ali, and getting laid for tea. And while I’in on Mariella, I’d like to ask your indulgence while I make the best of a good job. So please stop reading this until I tell you to “start again”.
    Start again. Well, that was an unexpected journalistic perk. My pecker has never pricked a better parker. Later on in the magazine, when I’ve had a bit of a rest, I’ll tarry awhile with the magnanimous Mariella again.
    My month has not been entirely up and down or even uneventful. An afternoon of hysterical paralysis was no joke – I had a free ride in an ambulance and a beautiful coloured nurse had a free exploration of my body. She didn’t find anything, but she had a good laugh. To recuperate, I am now off to the New Forest to frolic and gamble with the deer. I don’t yet know which one it’ll be with but I’m game for anything in knickers. Now for Club International’s greatest scoop ever. We’ve acquired exclusive transcripts of the Nixon tapes, which prove conclusively that the precedent of the United States is either no Caruso, or no good.
    Finally a word of thanks to Pyromaniacs Anonymous for their help in making things go with a bang on page 65. See you in jail.
