Catalogue of exhibition held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 15 October 2006 to 14 January 2007.
This exhibition displayed for the first time Norman Lindsay’s complete set of 200 published etchings. These were presented against a small collection of Lindsay’s paintings, watercolours and drawings, which had been sourced from interstate and local lenders.
Norman Lindsay is one of Australia’s best-known artists and in addition to his exceptional ability as an etcher, he was also a talented illustrator, painter and author.
His etchings were inspired by myth and legend, his own imaginary worlds, music, literature and of course the female form.
